US and Kazakhstan discusses plan of action after withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan

Almaty. June 14. KazTAG - The US is discussing a plan of action with Kazakhstan after the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, said Zalmay Khalilzad, Special Representative for Reconciliation in Afghanistan.
“As I said, our troops are leaving Afghanistan. But, given the need for cooperation, both in countering terrorism and in the field of economic development, ties, humanitarian issues, with states in the region, we are discussing cooperation in these areas with the countries of the region, including Kazakhstan. There is nothing to announce yet, but I must say that our discussions and negotiations are progressing,” reads the report.
He explained that the United States is seeking to increase its capabilities in Central Asia in order to protect its security.
