US will not allow new ambassador of Iran in UN to arrive to the state

Almaty. April 9. KazTAG - The US will not allow the new ambassador of Iran in the UN to arrive to the state, reports rbc.ru.

"The US administration declared to Iranian authorities that they do not approve the candidature of Hamid Abutalebi as an ambassador of Iran in the United National Organization as he was involved in the capture of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979," reads the message.

The US representatives said that Abutalebi used to be a member of Islamic student organization which captured hostages 35 years ago.

The American Senate banned entry of the Iranian diplomat to the state on April 7. Abutalebi declared that time he just worked as an interpreter.

The portal reminded that 52 Americans were taken hostages in the embassy in Tehran and were kept there for 400 days.
