Volume of problematic assets in Kazakhstani banks lowered by 740 bln tenge since early 2014- Kelimbetov
Astana. October 21. KazTAG - The volume of problematic assets in Kazakhstani second tier banks has lowered by 740 bln tenge since early 2014, said Kairat Kelimbetov, chairman of the National Bank.
"The volume of problematic assets has lowered by 4.9 trln to 4.2 trln since the beginning of the year, or by almost 740 bln tenge. We believe the banks are running the task to reduce the level of bad assets by 15% of the portfolio (until the end of 2014-KazTAG), and to 10% by the end of next year. We plan to conduct certain arrangements in some banks connected with the work of the fund of problematic assets," he said.
He also declared the Government of Kazakhstan has corrected the Republican budget, it has been decided to capitalize 250 bln tenge of the fund of problematic assets.
