Wanted for 11 years in the case of theft of about T1 billion, extradited to Kazakhstan from Turkey

Astana. September 21. KazTAG – A man who has been wanted for 11 years in a case of theft of about T1 billion has been extradited to Kazakhstan from Turkey, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extradited a citizen of Kazakhstan from the Republic of Turkey to face criminal charges. He is suspected of stealing about 1 billion tenge from construction companies, including funds intended for the construction of a hospital. The suspect has been on the international wanted list since 2014,” Darkhan Duisembay, an official representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office, said on Thursday.
He clarified that the extradited man is currently being placed in a pre-trial detention center in Astana.
