Water level in Baitorgay Reservoir rose by 1.5 meters within three days

Taldykorgan. September 11. KazTAG –  Just within three days, the water level in the Bartogay reservoir in the Almaty region has risen by 1.5 meters due to the continued flow of water, said the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan.
“There is a lot of water this year. It is still coming. One day, 195 cubic meters of water arrived per second.  Just within three days, the average water level has risen by 1.5 meters,” said reservoir worker Sabit Orynbayev.
The reservoir currently holds 185 million cubic meters of water, which allows farmers to actively supply water to irrigate their fields. This year, the reservoir has collected about 300 million cubic meters of water.
At the request of farmers, 86 cubic meters of water per second is currently being released to irrigate more than 85 thousand hectares in the Talgar and Enbekshikazakh districts. Since the beginning of the irrigation season, 625 million cubic meters of water have already been sent to farmers through the Big Almaty Canal.
