Woman embezzling T16.8 million allocated for free medical services sentenced to 7.5 years in Atyrau

Atyrau. January 22. KazTAG - Woman embezzling  T16.8 million allocated for free medical services has been sentenced to 7.5 years in Atyrau, reports the press service of the Financial Monitoring Committee.
“The representatives of the Department of Economic Investigations in the Atyrau region have completed the investigation of a criminal case under paragraph 2 of Part 4 of Article 189 (misappropriation or embezzlement of entrusted other people's property) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan in respect the director of two enterprises in the city of Atyrau. (...) By the verdict of the court No. 2 of the city of Atyrau, she was found guilty of committing the offence and sentenced to imprisonment for a period of seven years and six months, with deprivation of the right to hold leading positions in medical institutions and health care organizations for a period of five years," reads the report.
The head of the companies, using her official position, committed the theft of budgetary funds in the amount of more than 16.8 million, allocated by the NJSC Social Health Insurance Fund in the Atyrau region within the framework of the state program Densaulyk - Provision of free medical services.
