Citizens of China, India and Turkey take lead in the number of guest workers in Kazakhstan

Astana. March 20. KazTAG - Citizens of China, India and Turkey take the lead in the number of foreign labor migrants in Kazakhstan, reports  the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan.
“As of March 1, 2023, according to the permits of local executive bodies, 13,403 foreign citizens are working in Kazakhstan. (...) The main countries of origin of labor migrants are China - 3411 people, India - 1685 people, Turkey - 1523 people, Great Britain - 1073 people, Uzbekistan - 769 people,” reads the statement.
Among the permits for attracting foreign labor force  there are the following categories: 565 permits for managers and their deputies (first category), 2966 permits for heads of structural divisions (second category). The main part of the attracted labor force refers to the third (specialists) and fourth (skilled workers) categories - 7199 and 883 people, respectively. Also, 391 people were involved in seasonal work, and 1,399 people - as part of a corporate transfer.
The largest number work in the construction industry - 5494 people (41%); mining and quarrying - 1455 people (11%); professional, scientific and technical activities - 995 people (8%); manufacturing industry - 889 people (7%); agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 641 people (5%).
