Electric power industry in Kazakhstan is technologically lagging behind - Ministry of Ecology

Astana. October 4. KazTAG - The electric power industry is technologically lagging behind many industries in Kazakhstan,  said Zulfiya Suleimenova ,Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
“The new environmental code of Kazakhstan from 2025 introduces a mechanism for the transition to the best available technologies. Now the best available techniques have been introduced in the electric power industry by 34%,” indicates the presentation of Suleimenova, presented at the collegium of the Ministry of Ecology on Monday.
According to the vice minister, the best available techniques have been introduced in non-ferrous metallurgy by 45%, in ferrous metallurgy - by 55%, in oil production and in the chemical industry - by 65%, in the production of precious metals - by 72%, in the cement industry - by 80 % and in oil refining - by 87%.
