Flying on Air Astana flight from flood zones turned out to be several times more expensive than flying there

Astana. April 17. KazTAG – Flying on an Air Astana flight from areas of Kazakhstan that are prone to floods turned out to be many times more expensive than flying there,  said journalist Askhat Niyazov.
“How did Air Astana comment on the news about high prices for tickets from Atyrau? What is this fake? Why did you choose difficult routes?  Were these ticket provided by aggregators? OK. I went to their website. Here is a direct ticket. And what? Do you think this is normal? Notice how high the fares are there. But the same flight back is already six times more expensive! This is how you help when people want to leave sinking Atyrau? The situation is the same with Uralsk. Back is three times more expensive! So, everyone has stopped making noise, now you can make some money? Thank you, everyone’s favorite Air Astana. You won’t leave me in trouble,” Niyazov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Using the examples he gave, the ticket fare from Astana to Atyrau was T16,228, and from Atyrau to Astana - T119,586, the price of a ticket from Astana to Uralsk was T34,728, and from Uralsk to Astana - T119,586.
Kazakhstanis  had criticized the pricing policy of Air Astana, whose ticket prices “soared” against the backdrop of the flood situation, and also wondered why there is no information about what kind of assistance air carriers are providing in a situation when the rest of the country has thrown all its efforts into helping victims of the disaster. After this, the Ministry of Transport made a statement that the number of flights from Atyrau had been increased and tariffs had allegedly even been frozen.
