Park named after Elizabeth II opened in Astana

Astana. March 20. KazTAG - A public garden named after Elizabeth II has been opened in Astana.
“In Astana, with the participation of British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley, a square in honor of the British Queen Elizabeth II has been opened,” reads the report.
The park is located along Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, between the Saltanat Saray complex and the St. Regis Astana.
“During her 70-year reign, the longest in the history of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty is remembered as an outstanding leader, a wise ruler, a symbol of the unity and resilience of the British people. Her honor, dignity and incredible achievements continue to inspire millions of people around the world. In Kazakhstan, Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed well-deserved love and respect. The decision to give the name of Her Majesty to one of the squares of our capital was made personally by the President of our country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and timed to coincide with her platinum anniversary. Today we have the honor to officially open this square for residents and guests of Astana. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth II did not have time to visit Kazakhstan, but we hope that King Charles III and other members of the royal family will visit our open spaces,” said Roman Vasilenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
