The Nazarbayev Foundation denies organizing campaign to discredit current government

Astana. April 17. KazTAG – The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation denies organizing a campaign to discredit the current government.
“Against the backdrop of the tense situation associated with the passage of the flood season in Kazakhstan, some social media posted information about an “information campaign allegedly conducted by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation aimed at discrediting the authorities and destabilizing the socio-political situation.” The information published by an anonymous source was also voiced by individual media personalities, who also made unfounded accusations. The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation considers it necessary to make a statement that these publications and statements have absolutely no objective and factual basis,” the foundation said in a statement.
The Foundation assures that its activities “are neither political nor information-manipulative in nature.”
“The work of the Foundation is aimed exclusively at the development of social projects and civil initiatives, support for Kazakhstani youth, and provision of charitable assistance. I would also like to emphasize that Nursultan Nazarbayev has always supported and continues to support the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the political course he pursues. These days, the first president, like many citizens of our country, sympathizes with the people of Kazakhstan affected by the floods. We fully support the efforts of the head of state and government to eliminate the consequences of unprecedented floods in the regions of the country. The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation was among the first to provide financial assistance, transferring funds to support residents of the affected areas,” reads the statement.
