“Gambling addiction in our society has become widespread, destroying families and poisoning the consciousness of the younger generation. According to official data alone, about 400 thousand of our citizens, mostly young people, are involved in gambling,” Koshanov said, summing up the work of parliament before the holidays at a joint meeting of the chambers on Friday.
The law on gambling business was discussed for a long time within the walls of parliament and on various public platforms.
“There were pressure groups trying to oppose its adoption. Deputies have tightened the requirements for bookmakers and casinos, introduced criminal liability for the activities of online casinos, and banned debtors and alimony workers from playing,” Koshanov added.
