Activist from Uralsk: Policeman in time of detention hit me with his head and smashed my lips

Uralsk. February 24. KazTAG - Aslan Sagutdinov, activist from Uralsk, said that a policeman hit him with his head and smashed his teeth in the time of detention, reports Uralsk Week newspaper.
"In the time of detention they tore my jacket; I told them that I have problems with my heart. They took me to a police station, I asked them to call an ambulance but they did not want to do this. I was falling and was about to lose consciousness. They said doctors would arrive after seven minutes. After about half an hour I could hardly breathe and I thought that doctors might be downstairs but they did not want to let them to me. I tried to reach them myself. I thought they were waiting downstairs. This moment one policeman hit me with his head and smashed both teeth. Later doctors arrived and persuaded policemen to let me go as they saw my condition," he said.
In his words, he remembers the face of the policeman who hit him but he is not going to write a complaint.
"I don't see any sense in it. I don't believe it will be considered," he said.
Attempts of conducting protest actions took place in a number of cities of Kazakhstan, including in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. However, law enforcement officers toughly suppressed them. Hundreds of people were detained without reasons on February 22.
