Equipment cut-off at HPS-2 in Almaty followed short circuit in electric networks

Almaty. July 16. KazTAG - Equipment cut-off at HPS-2 in Almaty and the region followed a short circuit in the electric networks, said Gaziy Izmukhambetov, deputy chairman on industry of Almaty Electric Networks.
"In the result of short circuit three boilers and three turbines of HPS-2 were deactivated. After energy supply resumed, the equipment was partially activated," he said.
In his words, the cause of the short circuit will be declared after a few days. He said, it was the biggest failure in the past 7-8 years.
