Bulat Bakauov, akim of the Pavlodar region, introduced new akim of Pavlodar- Kairat Nukenov.
From February Nukenov worked as a deputy akim of the Pavlodar region, from August 2018 he worked as a first deputy akim of the Turkestan region. From April 2016 he worked as an akim of Ekibastuz.
Bakauov declared loss of trust in respect of Kumpekeyev on July 2 due to "excessive" expenses of the city head. In his words, " Kumpekeyev had been reprimanded for inefficient use of budget funds connected with purchase of an expensive flat, but then he walked twice into the same water purchasing ebony furniture for 6 mln tenge".
The announcement about purchase of an expensive flat was posted in autumn 2018 on the site of state purchases. The real estate worth 49.9 mln tenge was acquired by the department of housing-communal economy, passenger transport and motorways of the akimat of Pavlodar. The case called wide public resonance in the society. As a result Kumpekeyev was reprimanded, while the costly real estate was divided into six flats and distributed among the fosterlings of orphans’ homes.
