Taraz. January 26. KazTAG - Police detained the purveyor of gossip about death of Serik Akhmetov in Zhambul region, a criminal case has been opened for spread of misleading information, said Gulsara Mukhtarkulova, press-secretary of the department of internal affairs.
In her words, the rumors about death of ex Prime Minister S. Akhmetov were spread by 25 years old resident of Taraz Zhandos Baishemirov. "He created a page in Vkontakte social network under the name of "Ruslan Maekeyev" and posted this information, then he spread it via WhatsApp," she said.
The detainee confessed creating a fake account in the social network and spreading misleading information. He was released under recognizance not to leave.
Police withdrew a computer and a mobile phone.
