State prosecution requests 10 years in prison for Shkarupa, former vice minister of energy of Kazakhstan

Karaganda. January 18. KazTAG - The trial of Anatoly Shkarupa, former vice minister of energy of Kazakhstan,  has moved to the debate of the parties.
During a meeting of the Kazybek bi district court in Karaganda on Monday, the state prosecution asked the court to sentence Shkarupa to 10 years in prison.
As it was reported, on November 24, 2018 it became Anatoly Shkarupa  Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan and  Kaysar Baidaly, ex-chairman of the board of the Housing Development Fund JSC, were arrested on suspicion of embezzling budget funds allocated for the purchase and installation of heat meters in Saran, Karaganda region worth T215 mln.
On November 16, 2019, the lawyer of Khamid Aitkaliyeva reported that the term of Shkarupa's detention in custody had expired, and a new preventive measure had not been taken.
On June 15, 2020, Shkarupa was placed under house arrest.
