Tokayev met with the Prime Minister of Singapore

Astana. May 23. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong, the Akorda press service reports.

The head of state emphasized that Singapore is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia, and highly appreciated the long-term partnership between the two countries.

The President expressed confidence that the results of his first state visit to Singapore will give a powerful impetus to bilateral relations, and confirmed his readiness to provide the necessary assistance for this.

The Prime Minister of Singapore noted the huge potential for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

As part of the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Singapore, the following interstate and interdepartmental documents were signed:

1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on economic cooperation;

2. Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Singapore;

3. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Singapore on cooperation in the field of protection of intellectual property rights;

4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Singapore on legal cooperation;

5. Memorandum of cooperation in the field of higher education between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Singapore;

6. Agreement between the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology and Enterprise Singapore on cooperation in the dissemination and translation of Singapore standards.
