“Starting from April 14, 2024, patients with signs of food poisoning and bacterial intestinal infection have been turning to the infectious diseases department of the Ekibastuz City Hospital en masse: repeated vomiting, severe weakness, abdominal pain, increased body temperature. When collecting an epidemiological history, it turned out that all of them were guests of an event that took place on the eve of April 13, 2024 in one of the city’s cafes,” the Pavlodar region health department reported.
It is reported that patients, after examination in the emergency department and emergency medical care, were hospitalized in the infectious diseases department. In total, 32 people applied for the period between April 14 and 15. Their condition is considered to be of moderate severity.
