Kazakhstan is ready to strengthen partnership with BRICS - Nurtleu

Astana. July 8. KazTAG - Kazakhstan is ready to strengthen partnership with BRICS, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan is ready to strengthen partnership with BRICS - for the sake of humanity and the planet. Let's act together - and act proactively. In this regard, I invite you to take part in the Regional Environmental Summit, which Kazakhstan will hold in 2026 in partnership with the UN," said Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, speaking at the session  entitled Environment, COP30, Global Health" of the 17th Summit of Heads of State of BRICS Member States and Partners.
During the session, the participants discussed a wide range of issues related to environmental protection, preparations for the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), and strengthening global health systems.
The head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry emphasized the need for joint efforts to preserve ecosystems, protect forests, restore the Aral Sea, and curb glacier melting.
Stressing the importance of moving from responding to preventing climate threats, Nurtleu called for the development of early warning systems, increased disaster preparedness, and enhanced multilateral coordination. In this regard, he presented Kazakhstan's initiative to use national satellite technologies for climate monitoring and emergency forecasting.
