Zhumangarin sees no reason for sharp rise in food prices following growth of fuel price

Astana. April  4. KazTAG - Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin sees no reason for a sharp rise in food prices in connection with the government's planned increase in the cost of fuels and lubricants.
“I do not predict a significant increase in food prices,” Deputy Prime Minister Zhumangarin answered a journalist's question about a significant increase in food prices.
At the same time, the Minister of Trade cited the following figures: eggs and chicken meat - 2%, sugar - 5%, sunflower oil, with an increase in diesel fuel by 25%, the price will rise by 2.4%.
“Most of the large producers do not work on any of the fuels, on any oil product. They run on gas. Gas prices are not going up. Therefore, I do not think that there will be a strong pressure on the cost of products from the cost of diesel fuel, mainly because we have already allocated 413,000 tons of diesel fuel for spring field work at a reduced price of 204 tenge per liter and this price  has been fixed,” he said.
