70% of cellular phones registered in Kazakhstan - MIC RK

Astana. December 10. KazTAG - 70% of subscribers have registered their phones, said Dauren Abayev, Minister of Information and Communications.
"The level of cellular communication subscribers is 10 million higher than our population, there are 26 million users with 18 million population. I.e. some people have 3-4 phones and SIM cards. I think about 70% are registered today. It means the majority of populations has registered their mobile phones," he said.
Answering the question of a deputy, if some people can remain without communication on New Year's night on January 1 2019, he said "people are concerned about it, but they don't go to register. We control the number of people daily," he said.
In his words, the department is conducting explanatory work.
"I don't think there will be any problems. People will not be disconnected. They are informed everywhere, at Kazpost, at CPS centers. I think we will bring order with the number of subscribers. We will see who uses communication. We will bring the market out of shade. I said 80% of crimes against children concern phone thefts. With this registration we will reduce 80% of juvenile crimes," he added.
