AMT may be fined over 1.3 bn tenge for environment pollution in Kyzylorda region

Karaganda. July 19. KazTAG - The ecology department of the Karaganda region asked the court to surcharge over 1.3 bn tenge for the environment pollution from Arcelor Mittal Temirtau.
"The ecology department of the Karaganda region jointly with the prosecutor's office of Karaganda region conducted unplanned check of ArcelorMittal Temirtau concerning performance of ecological law. The inspection revealed numerous violations of nature protection requirements," said specialized interdistrict economic court of Karaganda region.
The sum of the damage has been estimated to 1 395 049 996 tenge.
