“By the verdict of the district court No. 2 of the Saryarkinsky district of Astana dated October 28, 2022, Birtanov and Abishev were convicted on the fact of abuse of official powers that entailed grave consequences (Article 361, part 4, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code), respectively, to 5 and 4 years of restriction of freedom. Since there are no grounds for canceling or changing the judicial act, the verdict was left unchanged and entered into force,” reports the statement.
Birtanov was earlier acquitted of the episode of using an air ambulance aircraft due to the absence of a criminal offense.
