Citizens of Kazakhstan aboard liner in Japan have not caught coronavirus - MFA

Astana. February 18. KazTAG - The citizens of Kazakhstan aboard the cruise liner in Japan have not caught coronavirus, reports the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
"The embassy of Kazakhstan in Japan has been in touch with our citizens aboard the cruise liner Diamond Princess (isolated off the coast of Japan due to coronavirus-KazTAG). Up to date they are in stable condition, they have not caught coronavirus. However, they passed the tests for the virus." said the message.
The Ministry said the ship has been on quarantine since February 5 which will be lifted on February 19.
"After the quarantine they can leave the ship if the virus is not revealed. Japanese side plans to additionally examine each passenger on the ground," said the report.
"According to our diplomats, two women and two children aged 8 and 12 from Kazakhstan are aboard the liner. They feel fine. They are provided with food and medical protection means. Most likely they will return to Kazakhstan when they leave the liner," resumed the ministry.
