Citizens of Kazakhstan fighting with Chinese workers are charged with using weapons - lawyer

Almaty. October 23. KazTAG - The citizens of Kazakhstan fighting with the Achinese workers in the Almaty region are suspected of using weapons, said Lyazzat Akhatova, lawyer.
"The criminal case was opened under three articles, investigation is being held in respect of the citizens of Kazakhstan. Investigation said they acted in a criminal group and used weapons - they caused severe bodily harm. All five are in the pre-trial detention center, they have been arrested for two months, ”Akhatova said at a press conference on Wednesday.
She added that the suspects said they did not apply weapons.
The fight broke out between the Chinese workers and local residents in the Almaty region on October 9. The reason was beating of a Kazakh driver by the Chinese workers. On the next day, a group of local inhabitants beat the Chinese workers.
They heard that three Chinese workers beat one Kazakh and then they beat the Chinese, who were actually not involved in the first fight. They did not use weapons, on the contrary, they found a fitting on the bus, where the Chinese workers were sitting. They admit beating them, but they are charged under the article which involves use of weapons. 68 Chinese people were deported because they worked illegally," she said.
