"The health care workers in the region are suspected of killing a newborn placing him in a refrigerator. In the result of operative arrangements it was revealed that due to gross negligence the newborn was registered as dead while he was factually alive," said Shynges Kabdula, deputy chairman of anti-corruption service.
In his words, the child was showing the signs of life, in the time when there was a real chance to save him, the doctors decided to act according to the issued documents and leave the newborn to die.
“One of the reasons for such actions of the doctor was the documents already filled in the database, which could not be corrected. Our investigative-operational group revealed this fact, the child’s body was placed in the refrigerator. We did not have time to prevent this fact in time, " he said.
He added that, with the sanction of the court, the suspects were taken into custody, the case is under special control of the prosecution authorities.
