Kazakh companies have preferential access to $120 billion of government procurement in EAEU

Astana. March 28. KazTAG - Kazakhstani companies have preferential access to government procurement of other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) worth $120 billion, said Kairat Torebayev, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration.
“Kazakh companies, participating in government procurement of other countries, have an advantage. The government procurement market amounts to $120 billion throughout the EAEU,” Torebayev said, answering questions from deputies during the discussion of the bill “On the ratification of the protocol on amendments to the Treaty on the EAEU” at a Senate meeting on Thursday.
According to him, in Kazakhstan all purchases have already been digitized, and when filling out documentation, Kazakh companies practically do not collect any paperwork. About 20 different systems are connected when filling out these documents, and they are pulled from other systems.
“Accordingly, there is low digitalization in other countries, for example, in the Russian Federation it is 86%, in Belarus – about 84%, in other countries – less than 80%. As digitalization progresses, the availability of participation in government procurement also increases. Kazakhstan is in a more advantageous position,” Torebayev added.
