Land in Almaty was taken from banks controlled by Shadiev’s nephew and returned to the National Bank

Almaty. March 19. KazTAG – 960 hectares in Almaty were taken from Capital Bank Kazakhstan and AsiaCreditBank, which were controlled by Orifdzhan Shadiev, the nephew of oligarch Patokh Shadiyev, and returned to the National Bank, reports the press service of the city prosecutor’s office.
“Almaty prosecutors returned 960 hectares of land in favor of the National Bank,” the statement said on Tuesday.
The city prosecutor's office, based on an analysis of judicial acts and court verdicts, established the withdrawal of the assets of the debtor, who was the sole shareholder of the liquidated banks Capital Bank Kazakhstan JSC and AsiaCreditBank JSC.
“The defendant’s debt amounted to more than KZT15 billion. The prosecutor’s office, in the interests of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, filed a lawsuit to invalidate the purchase and sale agreements for the land plots of the defendant. By the decision of the Iliysky District Court of the Almaty Region, the claims of the Almaty City Prosecutor's Office were satisfied in full. By the decision of the judicial panel, the judicial act was left in force,” the prosecutor’s office said.
