Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry denies implication in failures of Google and Telegram operation

Astana. February 20, KazTAG - Our ministry did not do this, said Daryn Tuyakov, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, answering the question about the failures of Google and Telegram operation.
"As for this blocking our ministry was not involved in it. In our case there wasn't a fact, thus, our ministry did not do it," he said answering the question.
He said the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry can block the Internet by the order of the authorized bodies.
"In compliance with the law on communication, usually recommendation is issued. Different situations can happen, terror threats, and etc. Our ministry gets recommendations. There is a committee of telecommunications which takes measures in compliance with the law. Usually they are assigned by the authorized bodies. We do not take such decision, we just fulfill the tasks when we get an application," he said.
As it was reported, Telegram and Google operation failed after new publications appeared on the page of Aisultan Nazarbayev, grandson of First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and son of Dariga Nazarbayeva, Senate Speaker. In one of his latest posts on February 13 Aisultan Nazarbayev requested political asylum in Great Britain. He also said he has "information about scaled corruption between Russia and Kazakhstan".
