Ministry of Energy: Nur-Sultan will lack of heating without modernization of HPS-2

Astana. September 30. KazTAG - Nur-Sultan will experience shortage of heat without modernization of the heating power station - 2, said Nurlan Nogayev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan.
“To cover the shortage of thermal energy in Nur-Sultan, it is necessary to commission boiler unit No. 8 and turbine unit No. 6 of HPS-2, scheduled for commissioning in December 2020. In case of untimely commissioning of these units, there will be a shortage of heating energy in the city," he said.
In his words, when the ambient temperature drops below -27, the city experiences deficit and the approved temperature schedule is violated.
"The city administration should speed up the work on putting into operation the first start-up complex of HPS-1 and HPS-2,” Nogayev added.
He also indicated the delay of financing of the repair works at Kentau HPS and Kentau Servoce GKP in the Turkestan region.
