" We lack of household devices, we import clothes and different small items which can be produced in Kazakhstan (...), we have our heads in the clouds: we aspire to make plants, transport, but people need simple things. We all wear expensive imported clothes, why don't we produce in our country? I know that our light industry makes very good products. We do not know how to advertise, we do not know how to use domestic products," said N. Nazarbayev during the teleconference launching industrial, infrastructural, agricultural and digital projects.
In general, he said, in the years of industrialization 1250 new industries have been launched in Kazakhstan, 300 000 work places have been created. Products made in Kazakhstan are consumed in 110 states of the world.
"We import our goods from Kazakhstan. The key markets, of course, are China, Russia, Central Asian states, EU. Over the past years we have been producing over 500 types of products which we have never produced in Kazakhstan, we have been exporting about 50 new types of goods. Industrial volumes in the processing sector have tripled over the past seven years," he said.
