The government of Japan along with the organizing committee of the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games consider the holding of the games in the simplified format due to the Covid-19 pandemic as Yomiuri reported.
“Concerning the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo in summer 2021, it was determined that the government and organization committee of the games consider the simplification of their holding,” the message said.
The authorities intend to hold Olympics with a reduced number of partakers of the ceremonies of opening and closure. Moreover, the number of spectators might be reduced.
