Passenger traffic decreased by 61% in Kazakhstan in January-October 2020

Astana. December 4. KazTAG -  Passenger traffic  decreased by 61% in Kazakhstan in January-October 2020, said the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development.
"The number of passengers carried in January-October 2020 decreased by 61.1% and amounted to 7.65 billion people," reads the report.
Cargo transportation by motor transport decreased by 8%, to 2.65 billion tons.
340 million tons of cargo was transported by rail, 1.3% more than in 10 months of 2019.
Transit traffic of containers increased by 35%, to 719 thousand TEU in the reporting period. Moreover, the volume of container traffic increased by 62%, up to 445 thousand TEU  in the direction of China-Europe-China.
