People killed and injured in mass fights in Zhambyl region

Astana. February 10. KazTAG - Mass fight occurred in the village of Masanchi, Korday district, Zhambyl region between the local inhabitants. Police localized the conflict, investigation started under Art. 293 (hooliganism). The initiators and participants of the conflict have been identified.
A message had appeared in the social networks saying about interethnic conflict between the villagers in Sortobe and Masanchi,
Later Husein Daurov, chairman of association of Dungan people in Kazakhstan, said to KazTAG reporter, that despite the statement of the police saying about control over the situation, he said the situation was getting worse.
"Young people set more than 10 houses on fire in the village of Masanchi, shooting is underway now - these youngsters shoot in people, beat them, police can do nothing. People are waiting for the force officers," said Daurov.
Later he said he was beaten, all the village was burning and massacred. The police officer of the Zhambyl region said they had no such information.
At night on February 8 Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, commented on the situation saying the police stabilized the situation. In his words, the cause of the fight was hooliganism, to which provocateurs joined. The President said the culprits would be punished. In the evening on February 8 Daurov said that the task officers stopped the massacre in Masanchi, but arsons started in neighboring village of Bulan Batyr, adding that there were victims.
