Real incomes of Almaty residents increased by only 2% since 2015 - akimat

Almaty. June  27. KazTAG - Since 2015, the real incomes of Almaty residents have increased by only 2%, reports the city administration.
“Current development challenges in Almaty (…) Growth of real incomes of the population amounted to  only 2% since 2015; high inflation (8.8% since the beginning of 2022), while elevated inflation expectations remain; 25% or 380,000 adults in Almaty do not have access to social health insurance; nine out of 10 crimes are committed by the unemployed; a significant share of the shadow economy is 28.3% of the city's GRP (5.4% of the country's GDP),” reads the document “The main priorities of the Almaty development plan until 2025 and medium-term prospects until 2030”, presented for public discussion.
The document also notes that every fifth unemployed young person in the country lives in Almaty - 14.4 thousand people.
