Russian-Kazakhstani launching complex to be put in operation in late 2022-early 2023

Almaty. February 13. KazTAG - Dmitriy Rogozin, director general of Roscosmos, has voiced the terms of commissioning of the Russian-Kazakhstani launching complex.
"Jointly with Kazakhstan, we plan to conduct modernization of the launching complex of Zenit rocket in order to launch Soyuz-5 fr om it in late 2022-early 2023. It is our innovation," he said to Komsomolskaya Pravda.
When Russia started renting Baikonur cosmodrome there were 19 launching pads.
"Only three are operating now. Two for Proton heavy rocket and the 31st pad is from wh ere the rocket with Valentina Tereshkova was launched. Thus, we need to modernize all the launching pads," he added.
