Tokayev formally assumed presidency for a seven-year term

Astana. November 28. KazTAG - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has officially assumed the office of president for a seven-year term.
Tokayev's inauguration took place on Saturday at the Palace of Independence. The elected president took an oath to the people of Kazakhstan on the Constitution and bowed before the flag of the country.
The solemn ceremony of taking office of Tokayev took place in the presence of representatives of the political elite of the country, the public, the media, the Supreme Court, the central election commission, and other structures. In total, about 2.5 thousand people took part in the inauguration.
Tokayev had won the elections held on November 20 with 81.31% of the vote. Due to the latest changes to the Constitution, he will rule for seven years, while all subsequent presidents after him will be elected for only one similar term.
